Discover our rich history, mission, and commitment to educational excellence
Oduko Boatemaa Senior High School is a private Senior High School situated at Bosofour, a suburb of Mampong Municipal. It was established on 8th May, 2003, by its Proprietress, Mrs. Esther Oduko Boatemaa, a native of Mampong. The institution began as the Oduko Boatemaa Girls’ Vocational Institute (OBGVI), functioning primarily as a vocational school dedicated to training female students. Its initial curriculum focused on practical skills such as cookery, sewing, dress making, home hygiene, and bakery.
In a move to expand its educational scope and accommodate a broader range of students within Mampong and its municipality, the school’s management decided to restructure its focus. Consequently, the vocational institute was officially diverted into a Senior High School in 2008.
Since this transition, the school has operated as an SHS, currently offering four distinct programmes: General Art, Home Economics, Business (Accounting Option), and Visual Art.
Beyond the formal Senior High School education, the institution continues to recognize the need for practical skills training. It runs parallel vocational training programmes, reviving some of the previous curricula to serve the youth in Mampong who may not be pursuing the SHS track. These skills include soap making, cookery, sewing, dress making, and home hygiene. Furthermore, the school has also expanded its educational structure to include a Basic School section, encompassing Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High School, designed to serve as a direct feeder system for the Senior High School. To support its student body, the school provides essential boarding and hostel facilities for both boys and girls enrolled in the Senior High School.
